How to enrol

Every child has the right to access quality public education in their local community. If you live in our designated intake area, start your journey to join our vibrant school community by following these key steps:

1. Check your eligibility: use School Finder to confirm if your address is within our local intake area.
2. Apply online:  complete our online enrolment application.

Newcastle East Public School enrolment cap

Newcastle East Public School has a set enrolment cap based on 11 permanent classrooms. This ensures there is space for local students who move into the area during the year.

• Total enrolment cap: 281 students (Kindergarten – Year 6)

• Buffer: 14 places (reserved for local students)

• Non-local enrolments: Once enrolments reach 267, non-local places will no longer be offered.

If a non-local child starts Kindergarten, younger siblings are not guaranteed a place in future years. Their enrolment will depend on available space.
